Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong, will be in Bali, Indonesia, to attend the Third Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, as well as associated events, under the 2022 G20 Indonesian Presidency from 14 to 16 July 2022. 

2. The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors will discuss the state of the global economy; pandemic preparedness, prevention and response; and the development of sustainable finance and sustainable infrastructure.

3. DPM Wong will also participate in the Asia Initiative Ministerial Meeting, which is organised by the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, and sign the Bali Declaration on 14 July 2022. The Declaration reinforces our commitment to encourage the adoption and implementation of internationally agreed standards for tax transparency for a sustainable mobilisation of domestic resources. This will help combat tax evasion and support effective domestic administration of taxes.   

4. In addition, DPM Wong will sign a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation between Singapore and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The MOU, which updates the previous one signed in 2012, focuses on raising private capital for infrastructure financing; as well as finding new and innovative approaches to address challenges like climate change and energy transitions in Asia.

5. DPM Wong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
