Appointments to the Accounting Standards Council

- The Minister for Finance has re-appointed Mr Kevin Kwok as Chairman of the Accounting Standards Council (“ASC”). Mr Cheung Pui Yuen, a member of the ASC, has been re-appointed to the ASC, taking over from Mr Nagaraj Sivaram as the new Deputy Chairman. In addition, five new members have been appointed and nine other members have been re-appointed, for terms till 31 October 2019.
- Mr Cheung Pui Yuen is currently Deputy Managing Partner (Operations) at Deloitte & Touche LLP. He has more than 25 years of experience in the accountancy profession, and has served on the ASC since 1 November 2013.

- Mr Nagaraj Sivaram is Assurance Partner at EY. He was a member of the ASC from 1 November 2009 to 31 October 2017, and served as Deputy Chairman from 1 November 2012 to 31 October 2017. He has played an important role in ASC’s policy review on convergence with International Financial Reporting Standards for Singapore-incorporated companies listed on the Singapore Exchange. He has also raised the standing of the ASC through his expertise and representations at international accounting standard-setting meetings.
