Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport Mrs Josephine Teo to attend 10th ASEAN Finance Ministers' Investor Seminar and the 23rd World Economic Forum on East Asia in Manila, Philippines (20 to 22 May 2014)
19 May 2014Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport Mrs Josephine Teo will be in Manila, Philippines from 20 May to 22 May 2014 to participate in the 10th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Investor Seminar (AFMIS) and the 23rd World Economic Forum on East Asia.
2. The theme for this year’s AFMIS is “One ASEAN: Sustaining the Growth Momentum”. The discussions will focus on ASEAN’s growth prospects, initiatives of the ASEAN Finance Process and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), as well as the outlook of key industry sectors. On 20 May, Mrs Teo will speak at the Finance Ministers’ plenary session about ASEAN’s economic competitiveness and financial stability.
3. Mrs Teo will also represent Singapore in the 23rd World Economic Forum on East Asia, which will be held from 21 to 23 May 2014. Themed “Leveraging Growth for Equitable Progress”, this year’s Forum will explore opportunities presented by the evolving AEC and the need for resilient decision-making in the face of unpredictable economic and natural conditions. Mrs Teo will participate in a panel discussion on enhancing ASEAN’s economic development.
4. Mrs Teo will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance.
