16 Jan 2015

Do you know which sector receives most government spending? When was independent Singapore’s first Budget Statement released?

2. These are just some of the interesting questions that will be posed in the Budget Quiz 2015, which begins on 16 January on the Budget 2015 website (www.singaporebudget.gov.sg) and on the Budget 2015 mobile app, which is available for download on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

3. Singapore’s 2015 Budget Statement will be delivered in Parliament on 23 February 2015. Organised by the Ministry of Finance, Budget Quiz 2015 aims to spur a wider awareness and understanding of Singapore’s annual Budget process and of key policies announced at past Budgets, covering various areas such as economic, tax, and social measures. Broader questions on Singapore’s fiscal policies and government resource management will be presented as well.

4. There are three weekly quizzes starting from 16 January 2015 to 5 February 2015. Each week, participants with perfect scores will stand a chance to win attractive prizes. The three weekly quizzes will culminate in a Final Quiz, which will run from 6 to 15 February 2015. For the Final Quiz, participants who attain perfect scores within the shortest time will stand a chance to win $100 worth of shopping vouchers. All winners will be notified by March 2015. The Budget Quiz is open to all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
