940,000 HDB Households to receive GST Voucher – U-Save in January 2021
02 Jan 2021As part of Budget 2020’s broad suite of support measures for families, eligible households are receiving double their regular GSTV – U-Save in FY2020.
Overall, the Government has committed $5.9 billion in total for household transfers in FY2020, benefitting over 2.8 million Singapore residents.
As part of the Care and Support Package1 announced at last year’s Unity Budget, all Singaporean HDB households will receive their regular GST Voucher (GSTV) – U-Save this month. About
940,000 Singaporean HDB households will receive double their regular GSTV – U-Save. Of these households, about 155,000 larger families2 will receive
2.5 times their regular GSTV – U-Save this Financial Year (FY2020).
2 Under GSTV – U-Save this FY, the Government is disbursing $630 million to support households, particularly the lower- and middle-income households, in managing their household expenses.
3 Households living in 1- and 2-room HDB flats typically benefit from GSTV – U-Save rebates amounting to about three to four months of their utility bills. Together with the GSTV – U-Save Special Payment given last year,
these households will receive rebates equivalent to at least six to eight months of their utility bills.
4 For households living in 3- and 4-room HDB flats, their regular GSTV – U-Save rebates amount to about one to two months of their utility bills. They will now receive support which is equivalent to at least two to four months of their utility bills.
5 The GSTV – U-Save rebates that households will receive in January 2021 are summarised in the table below.

Notes:
a. Households whose members own more than one property are not eligible for the GSTV – U-Save.
b. On top of the regular GSTV – U-Save, eligible households would have received their GSTV – U-Save Special Payment over two quarters (in April 2020 and July 2020). Eligible larger households with five or more members will receive their additional GSTV – U-Save rebate for larger households over two quarters (in October 2020 and January 2021).
