Minister Heng Swee Keat to attend the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting and the Asian Development Bank Annual Meeting in Manila from 4 to 5 May 2018
03 May 20181. Minister for Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat, will be in Manila, Republic of the Philippines, from 4 to 5 May 2018 to attend the 21st ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting (AFMGM+3) and the 51st Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
2. Minister Heng will co-chair the AFMGM+3 with Mr Kim Dong-Yeon, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea. The AFMGM+3 will discuss regional economic developments and outlook, and the progress of key initiatives including the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM), and the Asian Bond Markets Initiative (ABMI). The meeting will explore ways to further advance regional financial cooperation among ASEAN+3 member countries.
3. During his visit, Minister Heng will also meet businesses and Singaporeans working in Manila.
4. Minister Heng will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Enterprise Singapore.
