Sign Up For 2007 GST Credits By 31 December 2007

27 Dec 2007

Singaporeans who have not signed up for their 2007 GST Credits have five days left to do so, by 31 December 2007. Those who do not sign up by this deadline will not be eligible to receive their 2007 GST Credits and Senior Citizens' Bonus.

2. Singaporeans only need to sign up once to receive their GST Credits and Senior Citizens' Bonus for all the four years from 2007 to 2010. Those who do not sign up for their 2007 GST Credits will still be eligible for future payouts and will receive a notification letter to sign up for their 2008 GST Credits from the CPFB in May 2008. There will be no retrospective payment of 2007 GST Credits and Senior Citizens' Bonus.

3. As of 26 December 2007, over 2.2 million Singaporeans or 96% of the 2.3 million who qualify have signed up to receive their GST Credits. The Government would like to urge the remaining 87,000 Singaporeans who have not signed up to do so quickly.

Sign-Up Via Internet or Forms

4. The easiest way for Singaporeans to sign up for their 2007 GST Credits is through the GST Offset Package website (www.gstoffset.gov.sg) where they can use the one-time PIN enclosed in the reminder letter sent out by the CPFB in November 2007. Alternatively, they can sign up by filling up the GST/1 forms available at any CC, CDC, SingPost office or CPF Service Centre. All forms should reach the CPFB no later than 31 December 2007.

5. The Ministry of Finance would like to thank grassroots leaders who have reached out to elderly and low-income Singaporeans to help them sign up for their GST Credits.
