Minister for Finance, Tharman Shanmugaratnam To Attend Meetings In Washington On Global Economic Reforms
07 Oct 20101. Minister for Finance, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will be in Washington, DC from 8 to 10 October 2010. He will deliver the keynote address at a Singapore-World Bank Conference on Urban Development, and also at a high-level IMF seminar on global financial safety nets. Minister Tharman will also be a speaker at a conference organised by the Bretton Woods Committee on the theme of 'Integrating Global and Financial Economic Reforms', and at a restricted meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC). He will also participate in the Global Economic Action Roundtable hosted by IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn, and the Commonwealth Finance Ministers meeting. While in Washington, Minister Tharman will also have bilateral meetings with some of his counterparts.
2. From Washington, Minister Tharman will travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 3rd and Final Meeting of the UN High-level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing, from 11 to 12 October 2010.
3. Minister Tharman will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance.
