FY2004 Budget Statement at 3:15 PM on 27 February 2004

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, will deliver the FY2004 Budget Statement in Parliament on Friday, 27 February 2004 at 3:15 pm.

2. It will be telecast "live" over Channel NewsAsia, with Chinese translation on dual-sound mode. NewsRadio 93.8 will be carrying out a "live" broadcast of the speech. There will also be a "live" Internet webcast at Channel NewsAsia's website, http://www.channelnewsasia.com/sgbudget.

3. In addition, the speech can also be read on the Budget 2004 website, http://www.budget2004.gov.sg. The speech will be uploaded progressively on the website as DPM Lee delivers it in Parliament. The public can read the updated parts online by refreshing the webpage.

4. Meanwhile, the public can now subscribe to have the Budget Statement sent to them by e-mail once DPM Lee has delivered it in Parliament. All they need to do is to log on to the Budget 2004 website, click on "What You Can Do" and follow some simple instructions.

5. The public can also have a go at being the Minister for Finance by logging on to the Budget 2004 website and launching the simulation tool, "If I Were the Finance Minister". It allows them to appreciate the tradeoffs involved in developing a balanced budget.
