1. The Minister for Finance has appointed two new board members to the Board of Singapore Totalisator Board (“Tote Board”). The two new board members are :

• Mr Ng Soo Nam
Managing Director and Head of Asian Equities
Threadneedle Investments Singapore (Pte) Limited

• Mr Thali Koattiath Udairam
Group Chief Executive Officer
Eastern Health Alliance

2. These appointments will take effect from 1 January 2014. A brief write-up of the new members is attached at Annex A.

3. The Ministry of Finance and Tote Board welcome the new board members and would like to express our appreciation to the retiring member, Ms Chew Gek Khim, whose current term ends on 31 December 2013 for her invaluable contributions to the Board.

4. The Board of Tote Board comprises eleven members, including Chairman, Tote Board, Mr Moses Lee. The list of board members of Tote Board with effect from 1 January 2014 is attached at Annex B.

ANNEX A

New Board Members

Mr Ng Soo Nam (???)
Managing Director and Head of Asian Equities
Threadneedle Investments Singapore (Pte) Limited

Mr Ng Soo Nam is currently the Head of Asian Equities at Threadneedle Investments Singapore (Pte) Limited. He is a veteran in the fund management industry, having spent more than 18 years focusing on Asia Pacific ex-Japan equity markets.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr Ng served as the Chief Investment Officer at Nikko Asset Management, and was with the Schroders Investment Management (Singapore) and Mirae Asset Global Investments (Asia).

Mr Ng was also formerly an Administrative Officer from 1990 to 1994 where he was posted to the former Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Mr Thali Koattiath Udairam
Group Chief Executive Officer
Eastern Health Alliance

Mr Thali Koattiath Udairam is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Eastern Health Alliance, whose members are Changi General Hospital, St Andrew’s Community Hospital, SingHealth Polyclinics and The Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home. He has over 30 years of experience in healthcare operations, administration and management.

Prior to his current appointment, he was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Changi General Hospital and the Chairman of Mercy Relief. He currently serves as board member on various boards, including Mercy Relief, Temasek Polytechnic, Institute of Technical Education, Singapore Institute of Technology’s Board of Trustees, Integrated Health Information Systems, and Singapore Medical Association Charity Fund.
