To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance: 

If he can provide a the breakdown of the top 1,000 of all individual income earners in Singapore based on tax returns for the Year of Assessment 2011, segmented by the number and percentage of Singapore citizens, permanent residents and others (segmented by nationality).

Reply by DPM and Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam:

Based on the tax returns filed for the Year of Assessment 2011 for the top 1,000 individual income  earners of all nationalities, about half are Singapore Citizens, 27% are permanent residents, and 23% are foreigners.
