Second Minister For Finance To Attend The Asean Finance Ministers' Investor Seminar, 14 September 2006, Hong Kong

Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Finance, will attend the Third ASEAN Finance Ministers' Investor Seminar on 14 September 2006 in Hong Kong. The seminar aims to profile ASEAN's growth potential and promote investments into the region.
2. The ASEAN Finance Ministers' Investor Seminar will have two legs. The first leg will be held in Hong Kong on 14 September 2006 together with the Annual CLSA Investor Seminar for fund managers. The second leg will be held in Singapore on 16 September 2006 together with the Annual Meeting of the Institute of International Finance for banks and institutional investors. The IIF Annual Meeting is being held in conjunction with the IMF/WB Meetings in Singapore.
3. Mr Shanmugaratnam will be accompanied in Hong Kong by officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
