Second Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong to visit Cebu, Philippines from 6 to 7 April 2017

1. Second Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong, will be in Cebu, Philippines, from 6 to 7 April 2017 to attend the 21st ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting (AFMM) and the 3rd ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Joint Meeting (AFMGM). He will also participate in the 12th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Investor Seminar (AFMIS).
2. The AFMM and AFMGM will discuss issues including regional economic developments and outlook, ASEAN Finance Cooperation, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint, and Roadmap for Monetary and Financial Integration of ASEAN.
3. The theme for the AFMIS this year is “ASEAN@50: Unleashing Potentials, Fostering Connectivity”. Minister Wong will participate in the Finance Ministers’ Plenary Session to discuss ASEAN as an investment destination, AEC’s role in the global economy, and regional connectivity.
4. Minister Wong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
