Minister Heng Swee Keat to attend the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting and Asian Development Bank Annual Meeting in Japan from 5 to 6 May 2017

1.    Minister for Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat, will be in Yokohama, Japan, from 5 to 6 May 2017 for the 20th ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting (AFMGM+3) and the 50th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

2.    The AFMGM+3 will discuss regional economic developments and outlook, and the progress of key initiatives including the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM) and Asian Bond Markets Initiative (ABMI). The meeting will also explore ways to further advance regional financial cooperation among ASEAN+3 member countries. 

3.    The Annual Meeting of the ADB will discuss developments in the Asia Pacific region and institutional matters such as the ADB’s operational and financial performance.

4.    Minister Heng will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
