Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong to Attend G20 Meetings in Venice, Italy

Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong, will be in Venice, Italy, to attend the G20 High-Level Tax Symposium, the Third Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting (FMCBG), and the International Conference on Climate Change under the Italy G20 2021 Presidency from 9 to 11 July 2021.
The G20 High-Level Tax Symposium will discuss strategies to advance domestic tax reforms as well as possible ways to enhance international cooperation on common climate targets. The FMCBG will discuss the state of the global economy; international taxation, including the statement released by the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) on 1 July 2021; and pandemic preparedness and response, including the Report of the High Level Independent Panel on Financing the Global Commons for Pandemic Preparedness and Response. The International Conference on Climate Change will discuss policies to transition towards a low-carbon and greener economy.
Minister Wong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance.
