Minister for Finance, Heng Swee Keat to visit the United States from 14 to 22 April 2016

1. Minister for Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat, will attend the 2016 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, and the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meetings in Washington, D.C., from 14 to 15 April 2016. The G20 meeting will discuss actions to promote strong, sustainable and balanced global growth and strengthen economic resilience against the weak global economic outlook.

2. In his capacity as Chairman of the Committee on the Future Economy and as Deputy Chairman of the National Research Foundation, Minister Heng will also meet key officials and stakeholders in the fields of research, innovation and enterprise from 16 to 22 April 2016 in Washington, D.C and Boston.

3. Minister Heng will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the National Research Foundation.
