Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Finance, will be attending the Fourteenth APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting in Queensland, Australia from 2-3 August 2007.

2. The APEC Finance Ministers will discuss developments in the Asia-Pacific region and various collaborative initiatives to promote a sound financial system and sustained economic growth in the region.

3. Mr Shanmugaratnam will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
