Merger of Singapore Pools and the Singapore Totalisator Board Postponed to 1 May 2004

Singapore Pools will become a company under the Singapore Totalisator Board from 1 May 2004, instead of 1 April 2004 as earlier announced.

2 The Singapore Totalisator Board Act has to be amended in order to enable the Totalisator Board to acquire Singapore Pools from Temasek Holdings, and to operate Toto, Singapore Sweep and football betting. MOF has tabled the Singapore Totalisator Board Amendment Bill for its first reading in Parliament on 27 February 2004. As the second and third readings of the Amendment Bill are expected to take place only in April 2004, the acquisition of Singapore Pools by the Singapore Totalisator Board has been postponed to 1 May 2004.
