Jobs Credit Scheme to See Final Payment in June 2010

More than 100,000 employers, who employ about 1.4 million local workers, will receive about $230 million in the second extension of the Jobs Credit on 30 June 2010. This is also the last payment of the Jobs Credit. In total, more than $4.3 billion has been paid to employers in six tranches since the Jobs Credit scheme was introduced in Budget 2009.

2.   Eligible employers will receive a notification letter by 26 June 2010 from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), to inform them of the amount of Jobs Credit they will receive in the final payment[1].

3.   Any enquiries or appeals regarding this final payment must be submitted to IRAS by 31 August 2010.

4.   For any clarification, please visit www.iras.gov.sg or call 1800 356 4055 for more information. The Jobs Credit helpline will officially cease operations from 1 October 2010.

[1] The second extended and final payment of Jobs Credit will be computed based on employees on the CPF payroll for the month of April 2010, and the wages paid to these employees from January to March 2010.
