Enhanced Growth Dividends And Total Benefits For Singaporeans In 2008

Singaporeans will be receiving a 50% increase in the second installment of Growth Dividends (GD) on 1st October 2008, as announced by the Prime Minister in his National Day Rally speech. Singaporeans can check their revised GD allotment amounts online at www.growthdividends.gov.sg. They will also receive a letter from the CPF Board from 17th September 2008, informing them of their enhanced GD allotment. Singaporeans who have received their GST Credits/Senior Citizens' Bonus and their first installment of GD will automatically receive their second enhanced installment of GD. No separate sign up is required.

2. Eligible Singaporeans who have not signed up for their GST Credits/Growth Dividends should do so at www.mof.gov.sg/gstcredits/GSTCredits.htm or www.growthdividends.gov.sg. They can log on using their Singpass or the one-time PIN included in the notification letter from CPF Board. They can also sign up using hardcopy forms available at CPF Service Centre, Community Centres/Clubs and Community Development Councils. They have until 31 December 2008 to do so.

3. Those who wish to donate their second installment of GD to charity can do so via the abovementioned websites. Those who wish to donate their enhanced GD must indicate so online even if they had previously indicated their wish to donate their second GD installment. 4. Besides the enhanced GD, households will be receiving a 50% increase in the amount of Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates for Fiscal Year 2008 (April 2008 ? Mar 2009) to be given out in November this year. In addition, Singaporeans also stand to receive benefits including GST Credits and Senior Citizens' Bonus, top-ups to the Post Secondary Education Accounts, Workfare Income Supplements, Income Tax rebates, Medisave Top-Ups, Service and Conservancy Charges rebates and Property Tax rebates this year.

5. Everyone can easily calculate how much benefits their household will get in total this year. They can make use of the household benefits table (see Annex A (48 KB)) that will be enclosed with the notification letter from CPF Board, or the online Household Benefits Calculator (available at http://www.singaporebudget.gov.sg/budget_2014/BusinessCalculator.aspx) to compute the total amount of benefits.
