Appointment to the Accounting Standards Council

Mr Lawrence Wong, Second Minister for Finance, has re-appointed Mr Kevin Kwok as Chairman of the Accounting Standards Council (ASC) for a one-year term from 1 November 2019. Mr Kwok has served on the ASC since November 2013.

2              The Minister has also appointed Mr Quek See Tiat for a two-year term, as Chairman-Designate in the first year of his term and as Chairman in the second year of his term. Mr Quek was a former Deputy Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He is currently the Audit Committee Chairman on the board of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. 

3              In addition, Mr Cheung Pui Yuen (Deputy Chairman of the ASC) and nine other members have been re-appointed, and two new members have been appointed, for terms until 31 October 2021.
