Parliamentary Question by Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis: 

To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance whether Town Councils will be provided with increased annual GST subvention grant when GST is raised in 2023 and 2024.

Parliamentary Reply by Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong:

The Government will provide funding to Town Councils to absorb the additional GST payable on Service and Conservancy Charges. This was announced six months ago by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance in the Budget Statement delivered on 18 February 2022. Details of the additional support to the Town Councils were conveyed to them by the Ministry of National Development on 31 August 2022.
