800,000 HDB Households to receive $45 million worth of GST Voucher - U-Save in October 2013

About 800,000 Singaporean HDB households will receive $45m worth of GST Voucher – Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates in October 2013.
GST Voucher – U-Save
2. The GST Voucher – U-Save is the household component of the permanent GST Voucher scheme that was introduced in Budget 2012. It provides a direct offset on utilities expenses for households, and will be paid out 4 times a year. This October, eligible Singaporean households will each receive a GST Voucher – U-Save of up to $65, depending on their HDB flat type (see Table below). No sign-up is required for the rebates.

Note: Households whose members own mo re than one property are not eligible for the GSTV – U-Save.

3. The Regular and Special Payment for the GST Voucher – U-Save as announced in Budget 2013 will provide substantial assistance to households. Those living in 1- to 2-room HDB flats can offset about 6 to 8 months of utilities bills on average with their GST Voucher – U-Save. Those living in 3- to 4-room HDB flats can offset up to 4 months of utilities bills on average.
