The business community can expect an estimated $7.5 billion worth of Government procurement contracts in Fiscal Year 2006.
Of the $7.5 billion, IT contracts account for $620m. This was announced by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore today at the IT Industry Briefing.
Construction contracts account for $4.7 billion worth of procurement for the public sector. Other goods and services purchases account for the remaining $2.2 billion. The larger purchases of goods and services include government bulk tenders for stationery, pest control and office equipment.
Information on these government tenders can be found on the Government's pre-procurement plan. It is available on the Government e-Business (GeBIZ) website at http://www.gebiz.gov.sg.
The pre-procurement plan was first introduced in 2003 by the Ministry of Finance. It aims to give suppliers early information about opportunities in Government Procurement.
