$48 Million Rebates For 700,000 HDB Households

In 2006, the Government will give up to 4 months of Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC) rebates and up to 3 months of rental rebates to eligible Singaporean HDB households. The rebates will cost Government $48 million and benefit more than 700,000 households.
2. The rebates will be given in the following months in 2006:

3. The rebates are given each year for 5 years between 2003 and 2007, as part of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) offset package announced in the 2002 Budget Statement. The rebates cost the Government a total of $340 million over 5 years. MND and HDB will be sending notification letters to all eligible households in December 2005.
