The Corporate
Governance Committee was established
to:

Review the approach,
development and promotion of best
practices in corporate governance
amongst publicly listed companies
in Singapore;
|

|
| • |
Examine international
best practice guidelines such as the
OECD Principles of Corporate Governance
in order to formulate corporate governance
principles and recommend best practices;
and
|
| |
|
| • |
Recommend a standing
arrangement for advocating, promoting
and enhancing corporate governance
including the training of company
directors.

The Committee presented
its Final
Report and Code of Corporate Governance
to the Government in March 2001. The
Government announced its acceptance
on 4 April 2001 at the OECD
Third Asian Roundtable on Corporate
Governance. The Code of Corporate
Governance can also be found at the

website.
