Budget 2007 Essay Competition
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) received a total of 125 student essays on the topic 'Financing Our Future' for the Budget 2007 Essay Competition. Launched in December 2006, the Competition aimed to promote greater awareness of public finance issues of the day. The inaugural competition jointly organised by MOF, Economic Society of Singapore (ESS) and the Straits Times (ST) was open to all students studying in Singapore and Singaporeans studying abroad.
The essays submitted were from a wide and diverse spectrum of students from both local and overseas institutions and provided an insight into the thoughts and aspirations of our country's youth on fiscal policy and public finance.
