| 2.43 Local enterprises aspiring
to become international players can tap on a range
of assistance to realize their potential for growth
and internationalization. One measure to help
SMEs is EnterpriseOne, a multi-agency initiative
which will be launched later this month. The EnterpriseOne
Portal is the primary channel to provide business
information and government e-services. The portal
is supported by a hotline and Enterprise Development
Centres (EDCs) such as the Association of Small
and Medium Enterprises (ASME), offering business
advisory services. Customised initiatives such
as the Local Enterprise and Association Development
(LEAD) programme, will encourage industry associations
to take the lead in developing enterprise competitiveness
in their respective industries. MTI will elaborate
on these schemes in the Committee of Supply.
