3.33 Finally, the Low Wage Workers Committee
has recommended that we give more to lower-income
Singaporeans when we share the fruits of the nation’s
progress because they face greater challenges
coping with the rising cost of living and will
appreciate special help during periods of economic
downturn. The Government accepts the recommendation
and I will now elaborate on what I will do in
this Budget.
