The mission of PMO is to co-ordinate the activities of Ministries
and the general policies of the Government and to provide
overall policy direction; to maintain readiness for elections
and eradicate corruption; to ensure the efficient and effective
management of public service officers through sound personnel
policies in service conditions, career development and staff
training; to promote quality service and productivity; and
to provide secretariat support to the Public Service Commission
in the pursuit of its mission. A total budget of $202 million
has been allocated to PMO in FY2004 to achieve this mission.
The Public Service Division of the Prime Minister's Office
aims to develop talent and nurture a forward-looking public
service through its Training and Development Programme and
Talent Management Programme.

training courses.

To resolve multiple-agency issues regarding
red tape and grey areas of concern to the general
public through the Zero-In-Process (ZIP).

$0.8 million will be used for the construction of the
Civil Service College and common facilities at Heng
Mui Keng Terrace.
|
|
|
$18.3 million for PSC scholarships. These scholarships
are for the recruitment and development of talent for
the civil service and potential public sector leaders.
