A second
group of businesses that need help are those
in the tourism and transport sectors. Tourist
arrivals have rebounded strongly since the
low point in the second quarter of this year.
By the end of August, tourist volumes should
be about 85% of pre-SARS levels. But this
is partly because the affected industries
have cut hotel room rates and airfares significantly.
Additional assistance from the Government
will help to speed up the full recovery of
the tourism and transport sectors. |
