1.80 Finally, the ERC recommended that the Government
help Singaporeans to cope with the current economic
difficulties. These include employment-oriented
measures, such as encouraging part-time work,
augmenting MOM’s job bank, improving job-matching
efforts, and counselling and retraining retrenched
workers. They also include financial assistance
for lower income households. The Government agrees
with these proposals.
