Total Expenditure
Total expenditure in FY2001 is estimated
at $28.05 billion, an increase of $112.10 million or
0.4% over the revised FY2000 estimate.

of the total FY2001 expenditure by sector and ministry
with the percentage change from the revised FY2000 estimates.

And Ministry
As in past years, the Social Development
Sector takes up the largest share (43.4%) of total expenditure.
The sector's expenditure increases from $10.97 billion
in FY2000 to $12.16 billion in FY2001. The increase
is mainly in the Ministry of Education (+$478.96 million),
the Ministry of Health (+$365.06 million), the Ministry
of Community Development and Sports (+$166.92 million)
and the Ministry of National Development (+$136.29 million).
The second largest sector is Security
and External Relations, taking up 36.6% ($10.26 billion)
of the total expenditure.
The third largest sector is Economic
Development with $4.22 billion (15.0% of the total expenditure).
Government Administration takes up
the remaining 5.0% share at $1.41 billion. It includes
a central provision of $100 million (under the Ministry
of Finance) for priority development projects that may
come through during the year.
